Vision to Rebuild Cape Breton

The Vision of "Rebuild Cape Breton." is to rebuild the Christian foundations of Cape Breton by planting Word founded, Spirit led, Missional congregations to reach out to local communities here on Cape Breton Island."

These new churches will be founded on a missional model of church that will be centred on befriending their local community, sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ in words and actions and then disciplining new believers.

The initial vision is to plant off 25% of the churches that we have already lost since the year 2000. We have lost 40 churches in the past 26 years, so our vision will be to plant 10 new churches in the next years.

This Vision is founded on Isaiah 61 verses 1 -7

Firstly -establish, train and send out Christians on mission, to befriend local communities, minister to community needs and develop a network of meaningful relationships with people, to find those people of peace.

Secondly -Planting New churches in strategic locations around the CBRM, near population centres, creating a network of new churches that support each other. The focus will be on rebuilding and developing Christian communities and placing church back into the center of local community life

Thirdly -(and actually firstly) train Christian men and women in evangelism, discipleship making, church leadership and church planting, then send them out to befriend a local CBRM community and plant out new churches.
